On April 3rd, Hualien, Taiwan was hit with a 7.2 magnitude earthquake, its strongest in 25 years. This has resulted in sizeable casualties (a dozen deaths and thousands that are injured, trapped in mountaineous terrains). The region is facing infrastructural damage that's disrupted people's businesses and the government's ability to provide advanced state services to all.

Amidst this, China has offered Taiwan disaster relief assistance, with it being rejected by Taiwan due to the two's hostile geopolitical tensions.

The "earn-to-give model" is a philosophy/movement that suggests the best strategy for people who want to create a change in the world is to earn a substantial income and then donate a significant portion of it to cost-effective charities. On the other hand, "work that maximizes social good" focuses on how you can create a positive impact on people through your work in various ways, such as social entrepreneurship or working in non-profit organizations. Usually, those working to maximize social good choose sectors that are less profitable and earn less money than the earn-to-give model. 

The principle of complementarity means that the ICC will only prosecute an individual if states are unwilling or unable to prosecute. Therefore, if legitimate national investigations or proceedings into crimes have taken place or are ongoing, the ICC will not initiate proceedings. This principle applies regardless of the outcome of national proceedings.Even if an investigation is closed without any criminal charges being filed or if an accused person is acquitted by a national court, the ICC will not prosecute an individual for the crime in question so long as it is satisfied that the national proceedings were legitimate.

In the 2000 Sydney Paralympics, Spain won gold in intellectual disability basketball. However, it is riddled with controversy as the the team competing (barring 2 players that were eligible) were instructed by the coaching staff to fake their mental disability, meaning they were ineligible.

This led to the team having their medals revoked, and many members of the coaching staff and the team being heavily fined and sentenced for fraud. This also led to the permanent removal of intellectual disability basketball as an event in the Paralympics.
